Under the stars
We head out together to photograph the nocturnal landscapes of the Dahar. I am there to help you prepare your shots, adjust your camera settings and refine your compositions.
I invite you to discover Nightscape photography in the heart of Tunisia's Dahar region, photograph the Milky Way and explore the landscapes of the Sahara in places I have come to know and that I now wish to share with you.
My name is Karim, and I have been fascinated by the Universe and the night sky for as long as I can remember. Photography also became part of my life at an early age, first through nature and then, for many years, through wildlife photography.
My journeys through the desert and the nights spent beneath its sky gradually led me towards astrophotography, and more specifically towards Nightscape photography: the meeting of a terrestrial landscape and the night sky.
I am fascinated by photographing ruins, ancient villages and landscapes shaped by time beneath a sky that seems unchanged for thousands of years. This contrast between human time and cosmic time reminds us how small we are and how fleeting our passage on Earth can be.
Through Sky of the Sahara, I invite you to share this experience with me: travelling into the desert, far from city lights, to explore and photograph together these nocturnal landscapes where the Earth meets the sky.
Throughout the nights, I share with you the techniques I use to photograph the Milky Way and create images that combine the night sky with desert landscapes. The aim is not simply to apply camera settings, but to understand how to prepare an image, observe the sky, choose a foreground and build a composition.
With Sky of the Sahara, the experience takes place above all in the field: scouting locations, waiting for the right conditions, preparing a composition and photographing as night falls. I want to maintain a simple and personal approach, allowing everyone to progress at their own pace while fully experiencing the Sahara.

During the day, we can revisit the photographs made during the night, discuss our choices and work through the main stages of image development and post-processing.
I take you to locations in southern Tunisia chosen for their landscapes, heritage and distance from the main sources of light pollution. Here, the experience is about more than photography: there is also the silence, the waiting and those moments when we switch off our lights and simply look up at the sky.
I invite you to join me in the Tunisian Dahar to practise night sky photography together and explore the possibilities of Nightscape photography among the landscapes of southern Tunisia.
Whether you are discovering Nightscape photography for the first time or already have experience, I share with you my knowledge of the field, my shooting methods and my approach to composing images that bring together landscape and night sky.
I keep the groups small so that I can genuinely be available to everyone and take the time to discuss your images, your equipment and your photographic practice.
“An unforgettable experience, breathtaking night landscapes and invaluable technical guidance.”Sky of the Sahara
If you love photography, wide-open landscapes and starry nights, I would be delighted to welcome you to southern Tunisia and share my passion for Nightscape photography with you. An experience designed to photograph, learn, exchange ideas and, above all, take the time to see the night sky differently.
