Sahara Photography:
Sky, Desert and Light
A selection of photographs taken during my explorations across Tunisia and other parts of the Maghreb, from nights beneath the Milky Way to the villages, mountains and vast landscapes that shape the Sahara.
One Region,
Many Perspectives.
I approach each photograph through the story a place has to tell: an isolated building, the silhouette of a mountain, the geometry of a ksar, a line of dunes or the quiet presence of a village within its surroundings.
From Tunisia to Algeria's Tadrart region and Morocco's High Atlas Mountains, this collection reveals remarkably different landscapes. I photograph them at night, in panoramic formats or in natural light, always seeking to preserve their scale, character and identity.
Nightscapes
I approach my night photography as landscape photography, where both the sky and the land play an essential role. I look for foreground elements that create a visual dialogue with the Milky Way: traditional architecture, remote villages, rocky formations or natural features. Choosing the right location, season, orientation and shooting time is therefore an integral part of every composition.
Panoramas
Some landscapes cannot be contained within a conventional frame. I use panoramic photography to capture the continuity of a mountain ridge, the breadth of a valley or the vastness of a horizon, allowing the viewer's eye to travel naturally across the image. This format helps me convey the true scale and depth of the landscapes as I experience them in the field.
Sahara Landscapes
This series explores both the inhabited Sahara and its natural landscapes. Ksour, mosques, Berber villages, mountains, oases and rock formations tell stories deeply connected to the land. I seek to capture these places within their surroundings, at times of day when their shapes, textures and traces of human presence become particularly visible.
Photograph the Sahara Beneath the Stars
During my photography workshops, I guide you in the field as you prepare your shots, explore the night sky, refine your compositions and photograph the Milky Way against the landscapes of southern Tunisia. Each small-group experience focuses on hands-on learning, careful observation and taking the time needed to create every image.
